Rebecca Minkoff Spring 2010 Apparel Collection
We LOVE Rebecca Minkoff, and her Spring 2010 Collection couldn’t have been more in line with our fashion aesthetic.
Described to be “inspired by the dark quirkiness of early Tim Burton films, mixed with 90’s beauty aesthetic captured in the iconic Peter Lindbergh photograph of supermodels Claudia, Cindy, Helena, Naomi, and Tatiana”, Rebecca Minkoff nails it on the head.
Expect a lot of leopard print, black and white cut out motifs, lace, light leather bombers, and buckles… along with a splash of color through rose print patterns, softening the collection a bit. A lot of skin tight dresses and skirts done in a tasteful way, that Cher Horowitz from Clueless would happily approve of.
We’d have to say our favorite look was the white ruffle sleeved top paired with a pleated leather skirt. A great combination of girly and tough- a theme that was resonant through the entire show.
There was a little squeal of excitement as George Michael’s Freedom played during the final walk and we could just picture the girls on the runway channeling the 90’s supermodels who made that song what it is.
