For Spring 2013, Max and Lubov Azria showed a strong collection with a limited palette for BCBG. There were lots and lots and lots of dresses, mostly floor length or below the knee done up on black, white, a sort of slate lavender color, and a few hits of an orange hue somewhere between melon and coral.
There were some excellent all-over prints, a bit of lace, and a whole lot of insets (hello patternmaker/cutter/sewer’s nightmare!). There were also a few pieces in leather, mainly some terribly unattractive shorts (knee length and voluminous), a few skirts and several belt/harness type things. The simpler styles were the best- such as the white dress with black pocket flaps that came early on in the show. All in all, a nice meshing of the feminine and the geometric. -RS (Images via Vogue.com)
