Preen by Thornton Bregazzi was a show full of floaty transparencies and patterns printed on layers of chiffon. This Spring 2013 collection was a bit of a departure in its use of floaty shapes and softer silhouettes. Sure there were some slit-up-to-there pencil skirts and a few structured leather jackets, but most of the clothes were quite soft.
What saved the collection from becoming too sweet were the colors (mostly black and white with a few strategic uses of color in piecing and pattern), and the prints (snakeskin on chiffon and a sort of organic mosaic. The dresses that played with illusion and peek-a-boo piecing were some of my favorites. -RS (Images via Style.com)
