Anne Hathaway won Best Supporting Actress for her role in “Les Miserables,” an adaption of the 1862 Victor Hugo classic last night at the Golden Globe Awards.
Clad in a white beaded strapless dress from CHANEL (naturally) she delivered her acceptance speech with a swan-like stature that has yet been seen. Poised as ever she thanked her mother who she had watched perform the role of Fantine on Broadway when Anne was just eight years old. But the most memorable quip from her speech may well have been:
“Thank you for this lovely blunt object that I will forevermore use as a weapon against self-doubt.”
