DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A BUYER?
Congrats to Sara Cornell who picked all three Botkier styles that we are carrying this Spring. And thank you to everyone one who entered. Judging by the response to this contest, we will definitely do it again for Fall with another featured designer.
Sara picked the Howard Street Satchel in Fuschia, featured above as her prize, but all three bags are currently available on designersocial.com.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A BUYER?
We’re uber-confident in our members’ supreme taste and discerning eye when it comes to handbags, and we’re putting our $$ where our mouth is this season.. Look at Botkier’s Spring 2010 linesheet above (broken up into 3 pages) and tell us what styles you think you’ll see next week on designersocial.com. (We bought 3 pieces from this collection.)
The first person to correctly identify our picks this season wins their choice of Botkier handbags! Hint: one bag from this shipment is already up on designersocial.com. (OK so just guess the other 2.) Email your answer to: support@designersocial.com. First person to submit the correct 3 pieces wins the bag, plus we’ll feature you on the blog.
Good luck and don’t be surprised if we contact you to work here if you guess right!!
Accessorizing with DesignerSocial:
Let’s play a little dress-up with Dree Hemmingway and Becka Diamond. These girls don’t need much to make a statement, and often make their effortless chic outfits complete with small details in accessories. Any girl can throw on a pair of black skinny jeans, an oversized sweater, and a cool leather jacket. But by adding the right cuff, bag, or ring (and a little bit of attitude) you can turn that look into something street fashion bloggers will snap their shutters for.
We think that these three pieces from the DesignerSocial closet would look great on either ‘It Girl’!
- Botkier Logan Satchel- Gorgeous distressed black lambskin tote with fringe tassels and antique brass hardware.
- Couture Beaded Gemstone Bracelet by John Galliano- Amazing one of a kind piece. Authentic black lace shrouds set gemstones over a beaded body.
- Mali Ring by Dannijo- For the tough girl that loves her Rock’n’roll and effortless attire. You’ll find her in zip jeans, a tee, studded pumps, and well, the Mali ring. Yeah, she’s cool.

Taking it Back to Street Chic
In a city where different neighborhoods garner different lifestyles and dressing, Downtown Chic has transcended past it’s jurisdiction and become quite a national trend. Accessories designer Monica Botkier has lived this look, and has always been inspired by her downtown NYC roots. We’ve loved Botkier from her first collection with the Trigger bag, to this very day as we carry her amazing pieces from Fall 2009 on DesignerSocial. Titled, Rocker Chic on Crosby Street, we see the classic Botkier details which she describes best herself:
“Leather. Zippers. Studs… the Botkier Fall 09 collection flaunts all the details we love about Botkier. Taking it back to street chic NYC cool. Inspired by the seductive pulse of New York City streets and my favorite pair of worn in, black leather motorcycle pants. Handbags and shoes in a palette of moody darks and sexy neutrals that get better with age. Slouchy silhouettes that live with us. This is quintessential Botkier.”
View the rest of this street worthy collection on the Botkier site.
