Francine Ballard's Rantings of the Accessory-Obsessed.

While I’m bummed that the release of Baz Lurhmann’s film adaption of The Great Gatsby has been pushed back to next summer, at least we have some amazing costumes to look forward to. Miuccia Prada has been working with the costume designer (and Lurhmann’s wife) Catherine Martin, pulling dresses from the Prada and Miu Miu archives and adapting them for the film. I think it’s the perfect match (remember the Prada S/S 2011 collection that was inspired by the ’20s?) and a move of which F. Scott Fitzgerald would approve for his timeless Daisy Buchanan. Can’t wait to see what I’m sure will be delightful dresses on the big screen.
