Francine Ballard's Rantings of the Accessory-Obsessed.
Calvin Klein Resort 2013 looked equal parts jetset and city staycation, with a soft neutrals color palette and some of my favorite shoes so far this season. Fransisco Costa showed calf-length dresses and hip-length tunics (for lack of a better descriptor) paired with cropped cigarette trousers which seem to be the preferred pant of the season. There was lots of white and grey, punctuated by a soft mimosa yellow and silvery medium green. The clothes had just the slightest 1970’s feel to them but were far more minimalist than anything actually from that era. The platform peep toe shoes made an excellent accessory statement when paired with the narrow silhouettes. -RS (Images via Stylesight)
More Cannes red carpet photos from the front lines of the French festival. Today an entire post on models at Cannes because that’s extra fashion! -RS (Images via fashiongonerogue)
Top row: Natasha Poly in Gucci looks lovely but perhaps out of season, Lara Stone in Calvin Klein needs some undergarments and a steamer, Liu Wen WINS in Roberto Cavalli.
Bottom row: Bianca Balti can pull off the drama of this Dolce & Gabbana, Erin Wasson finally gets her shit together and puts on something other than cut off jeans in this Antonio Berardi look, and Barbara Palvin is utterly flawless in Valentino.
Calvin Klein revealed its latest global campaign this morning, entitled “Naked Glamour.” Sounds intense. It is more than fitting that a company so known for its gritty sex appeal would place Lara Stone at the forefront of this project.
With the help of top-notch photographers Patrick Demarchelier, Mert & Marcus (above: bottom two), Steven Meisel and Craig McDean (above: top), these photos are definitely ones you’ll want to put on your inspiration board. Oh, you don’t have one? Well why in the world not?
